  5. If you’ve experienced inexplicable bombs with your new 030 board from Dove,
  6. particularly while printing, it may be because one of the Toolbox Traps
  7. (_Fix2Long) is not implemented after the 030 is installed.  _Fix2Long is
  8. a routine that is called by most word processing, page layout, and
  9. graphics applications and if not implemented, usually results in a bomb
  10. when the application tries to access it.

  12. Dove will undoubtedly issue a revision to its software interface that
  13. cures this problem.  In the meantime, the 030/MAC+ AID CDEV offers a
  14. quick,free fix that will immediately expand the number of applications you
  15. can use with the 030 in place.

  17. 030/MAC+ AID is a Control Panel Device that checks the current status of
  18. the _Fix2Long trap on your Macintosh, and if it is not implemented, offers
  19. the option to install the trap.  Once the option to install is exercised,
  20. the trap is immediately installed and on subsequent startups, automatically
  21. installed until the option is cancelled through the CDEV, or the CDEV is
  22. removed from your System file.

  24. This version of the 030/MAC+ AID CDEV is optimized for the Macintosh Plus,
  25. but will work for other Macintosh ROMs.

  27. To use, drag 030/MAC+ AID to your System file.  It will be immediately
  28. available through the Control Panel.  Each time it is accessed, it makes
  29. a direct check of the Toolbox trap tables and the routines they point to
  30. to see if _Fix2Long is implemented.  If it is not, you are advised and
  31. have the option to install the trap.
